Matthys was founded over a 100 years ago as a smithy for the agricultural industry. In 1983 Matthys nv started building creels and accessories for the tufting industry and we are still a leading company in this speciality today. In 1986 Matthys nv continued growing and specialized ourselves into the design, construction and starting-up of machines for the textile industry such as inspection tables, rolling up units and compensators for fabrics. In 2003 we then founded the Matthys Group together with Evilo. After that, by diversification, more and more of our turnover was realized outside the textile industry. Today, the Matthys Group is a modern and efficient plant with a workshop of 15.000 square meters and an in-house engineerings department so that we can keep changing ideas into machines!
